Kerma and I are waiting in Denver airport to fly to Israel via Munich. Should arrive in Israel Monday evening.
I really learned a great deal about education in the UK and Ireland. We all are wanting the best for students. The world is more in sink then sometime politicians realize. The future lies in our youth .
Last Day
Free day to say good bye to Ireland. Saw the Book of Kells Took train down coast to view the sea. Then a farewell dinner and entertainment. Great time and learned a lot.
Trip to Cliffs of Moher
Wonderful tour to western Ireland. I liked traveling through the country side. Lunch in Doolin in a little pub was neat. Burren area was so unusual. Quite a sight.
Trinity College
Visited Trinity College School of Education. I might have a slightly better idea of Irish teacher education preparation but to say I fully understand would be wrong. The basic underpinnings are similar to US. Trinity College is the same as when I was here some 10 plus years ago.
Northern Ireland
Day trip to Belfast Northern Ireland. Visited Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education. They gave a presentation on the establishment of religious integrated schools to aid in reconciliation of the people. The Wall was a sad reminder of “the troubles “. In Northern Ireland.
Dublin primary school
Visited an urban primary school in Dublin. This was a state supported school operated by a Catholic Parish. School is diverse in students served The school follows a National Curriculum established by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. Liked seeing the engaged learners in this school.
Rachel look at this
My niece Rachel has monthly gatherings at the Scoop in Jewel Kansas. I found a scoop in Dublin. So Rachel next month theme your party, “Dublin”
Organ
Check out the organ.
Ireland day 2
Today we had no schools to visit so I had a cultural experience. Toured the Jamison whiskey distillery and St Michan church. I did not spell Michan wrong that is how it is spell.
